Kay (Katherine) Richards of Pinconning was accepted as the post's 1st woman legionnaire. She was a member of the World War II, American Nurse's Corp in Europe. She had applied for membership at the Pinconning VFW post, but was turned down. They were only willing to accept her as an auxliary member.
