3 Boys to Boys State including 1 counselor who attended last year and is newly chartered Sons Squadron 324 Commander Pierce Horton (far right in photo). 24 boys from District 12 attended from May 26th till June 1st at Riverside Academy in Gainesville, GA. The Director, Phil Youngblood, stated 291 boys attended from the state.Boys State Committee for 2019 was Chair Robin Poole, Cdr Travis King, Chaplain Mike Horton and Sons Cdr Pierce Horton. 2 girls from Moultrie were also authorized and funded to go to Girls State 19 but were not able to attend due to schedule conflicts. . The 2 boys who attended were both recommended from JROTC Col Nagy and were David Grace and Aholijab Martinez.
