DICK HORINKA

Taking a break on the folded wing of a F2H2 Banshee jet while aboard the carrier USS Lake Champlain while with the 7th fleet in the Korean waters during the Korean War.The ship departed Norfolk Virginia on 26 April 1953 and completed the cruise on arrival at her home port,Mayport,Florida on 4 December 1953.Dick was an Aviation Electronic Technician taking care of the Squadron-VF62 (20 Jet Fighter Planes) aircraft radio and radar equipment .Worked as the VF 62 Squadron trouble shooter during the catapult launches.
