Post 2 honored World War II Veterans with it's annual Pear Harbor Day Dec. 7th at 11 am. Local State Reps. were in attendance. Former mayors were on hand. The present Mayor was unable to attend. An Officer from the Newington Iwo Jima Association was the guest speaker along with 2 Veterans whom fought on Iwo Jima and were founders of the Iwo Jima monument in Newington. The local paper the Bristol Press was on hand. They wrote a story about the event. A display from the Iwo Jima /World War II traveling Military Museum lined one wall of the Hall along with a picture presentation of past Pearl Harbor Days from Post 2 . Ed Riccio Jr. pictures from the attack on Pearl Harbor were also shown. He was stationed there that day the Japs attacked. The ceremony began with the ring of the USS KIDD Ship Bell. Followed with the MIA/POW Table. It was ended by a light meal cooked and served by Post 2 Kitchen crew.
