BRISTOL — Russ Trudel, recently named commander of American Legion Seicheprey Post 2, said he is excited to connect with the community and bids everyone “a fond welcome and hello.”
“As the new Commander of Post 2, I stand in the footprints of generations before me,” Trudel said. “I am honored to have this chance to head such a wonderful post with such a wonderful history of giving back to the veterans and members of our community since 1919. I have set my goals for the year and am concentrating on bringing back the traditions of yesteryear to our post and community on a whole.”
The local post will continue to serve as a place of comfort and fun for all area veterans and their families, the new commander said, adding that a new generation of veterans has been welcomed.
“We currently have the youngest slate of officers we have had in many years and would like to see more of our fellow veterans and their family members find and be part of the magic and excitement that we at American Legion Post 2 continue to enjoy.”
Trudel quoted the slogan, “‘The American Legion is family, and our family is fun!’ Come on down to any of our events, and you just may find that extra something you and your family can enjoy together. You served your country with pride, now come see how you can be part of our team and family and help give back to our community and future veterans and their families.”
