American Legion Ray Lines Post No. 64 conducted a Post Everlasting Memorial Ceremony March 19 for Lauren “Larry” Bussey, who was a member of the post for 13 years. 

The ceremony pays tribute to veterans who have died.

  

In attendance were Bussey’s wife, Eileen Rogers of Salida; his son, Duane, and daughter-in-law, Lorey, of Alamosa; Jim Dexter, District 12 commander; and members of Post No. 64.

Dexter also presided at a swearing-in ceremony for Post No. 64’s new adjutant, Stephan Hall, and chaplain, Willard “Willie” Travnick.

   

The next Ray Lines Post No. 64 meeting will be April 16 at the American Legion Hall, 10th and H streets, with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. and meeting at 7 p.m. All veterans are invited.
