
On Sunday, October 13th, American Legion Post 139 Beely-Johnson in Springdale hosted the Boys & Girls State attendees that they had sponsored for Spring 2019. The reception was held at the post and was also attended by the following government officials:
- Hannah Henderson representing Sen. John Boozman
- Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse
- Representative Jana Della Rosa
- Representative Clint Penzo
- Representative Robin Lundstrom
- City Councilman Brian Powell
Students were presented with a certificate by Department Adjutant Art Florer and a rose from Auxiliary President Laurie Hayes. Janice Alexander shared a brief history of Boys & Girls State, and Department Commander Al Wille explained the meaning of each item on the table for the POW-MIA remembrance ceremony.
Funding for the participants was raised by the Post's monthly pancake breakfast (1st Saturday of each month) and through donations from individuals and corporations. Corporate donors were:

Post 139 sent over 30 Springdale students to Boys & Girls State this year representing Springdale High School, Har-Ber High School, Shiloh Christian School, Don Tyson School of Innovation and Haas Hall Academy. Students were:
