This is a listing of Alabama Department Commanders for the period 1919-1947 and was taken from Alabama State Department records while past Historian and Life Member of Baldwin Post 99, Al Hardy, was recreating Baldwin Post 99's history following the fire which destroyed Foley's records in summer of 1992.
In the listing you will find highlighted (*) Edward L. Murray was elected Department Commander on August 8th, 1932 following the passing of Commander Edward R. Wrenn.
Commander Murray was the first of two Department Commanders to achieve that office from Baldwin Post 99 in Foley. Morgan Odom was elected the 80th Commander for the Department of Alabama in 1998 for the period of 1998-1999. A later story documents this achievement.
