After the monthly Squadron 99 General Membership meeting, the FIRST FORMAL OFFICER INDUCTION CEREMONY in the twenty-one(21)year history of Squadron 99, American Legion Post 99 was held.
American Legion Post 99 Commander Charles E (Ed) Chavis, Jr. (at podium) swore in Son's of the American Legion (SAL) Commander Randy Clute. Then, Commander Chavis swore in the other Squadron 99 Officers for 2014-2015. This was CDR Clute's 3rd continuous term as Squadron 99 Commander. He previously served at Squadron Commander in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009. As Squadron 99 Commander in 2012-2013, CDR Clute was recognized by Department of Alabama for achieving over 120% membership renewal and in 2013-2014, his Squadron was second in District 33 and fifth in Department of Alabama at 150% renewal. Commander Chavis thanked all the Squadron officers for their willingness to serve and for the hard work in helping Squadron 99 exceed it's membership goals and for their support to American Legion Post 99. He reminded them this Induction Ceremony was the first of many more to come and that it was a great pleasure in conducting the ceremony.
