The 1927 American Legion Department of Alabama Convention was held in Foley on August 22nd thru August 24th, which was the largest State Convention ever held by the Legion.
At this convention, Edward L. Murray, Post Commander, was elected a State Vice-Commander. Later, he became the fourteenth (14th) Department Commander.
