Youth in Government Day is sponsored by the American Legion Post 258. It is a program designed to provide high school students currently enrolled in a government class with firsthand knowledge of how county government plays an important role in their lives. The students have an opportunity to actively engage in the legislative process. The goal of the program is to develop awareness of how the county functions and assists students in becoming well informed and active citizens in their communities.
