In 1921 the Post was named after Albert C. Crain, the only person from Elmwood to die during World War I. After World War II, the post decided to honor the first Person from Elmwood to be killed in the war. That is when the charter was changed to the Crain-Ottman American Legion Post 207, and that has been the name since.
