This brass plaque was once outside of the Elmwood Auditorium, placed there by World War I Veterans after they had purchased the building. It was stolen sometime in the early 2000's and the Post thought that they would never see it again. By chance two high school boys were exploring some caves on their family farm and came across this plaque. They didn't know what it was and went and got their parents. The parents knew what it was and contacted a neighbor who was a Legion member, Merlin Place. Merlin told us that he had a surprise for the Post at the next meeting. All of the members present were somewhat surprised when they came into the room with it. It is now on the inside of the building now, where we can keep an eye on it.
