Minutes of February 14, 2020 meeting approved as posted on website.
Guests were introduced by Sergeant-at-Arms. They included Keith Looker, Post 100 and Al Johnson, prospective member. List of attendees is attached.
Keith Looker was escorted forward and gave a presentation on the Lacey Veterans Hub. He reported that in 2018 over $1.75 million was returned to the community in the form of VA assistance and back pay.
Charter was draped in memory of David P Churman, Air Force, Vietnam.
Commander Walker reported that 1st Vice Commander Eric Strom and Charles (Grumpy) Rommel would conduct Buddy Checks. Al Johnson volunteered to help.
Committee Reports
· Adjutant Larry Granish reported that the post is currently at 231 members for its goal of 213, 108.45%.
· Finance, Adjutant Granish presented finance report. Balance through February 29 is $4,039.48. Evergreen Boys State balance is $730.68.
· Service Officer Rose Hodgeboom reported that she has processed more than 20 claims. The number is down because she has been in training for most of the month.
· Judge Advocate, Dave Hodgeboom, reported on the Veterans Legislative Coalition meeting and he number of bills affecting veterans and family members considered by the state legislature during the current session. He made note of a bill that will use military driving experience for commercial (CDL) license.
· Chaplain Otis Chapman spoke on the importance of buddy checks and asked members to contact those they know and let them know we are there for them.
· Auxiliary President Karen Grundler
o reported that she and the Commander had visited River Ridge HS and spoke with the counselors on Evergreen Boys State/Girls State.
o Poppy presentation will be May 15-17 at the Safeway at the corner or Pacific and Carpenter. See her to sign up.
o The Unit is currently at 21 for goal of 19 or, 110.53%.
o Karen was elected as 4th District Vice President at the last Council Luncheon.
o The North Thurston SD Career fair has been cancelled due to Corvid19 concerns.
Business and Correspondence
· Adjutant Granish reported need to replace front window. It has failed and if not replaced, condensation will cause damage to the wood frame and siding. He has been in contact with Home Depot and we can expect to pay between $600 and $1000. Motion made, seconded and passed to replace the window.

· Len Tobin reported on the Comcast/Xfinity bill. He stated that 50% of the bill is for wireless. He will contact Comcast Business account section and attempt to cut costs and have options for our consideration.
· Resolution 1, VA Care of Atomic Weapon Incident and Accident Veterans, was read. Motion made, seconded and passed to approve resolution and forward it to Department for consideration at the 2020 Department Convention.
· Commander appointed Rose Hodgeboom as proxy to represent the post at the upcoming 4th District Spring Conference.
Good of the Legion:
· Commander reported that two for our four nominees to the Law and Order Committee were selected as Department winners. Robert Gottbreht was selected as Firefighter of the Year and Dereck Smith was selected as Emergency Medical Technician of the Year.
· Karen Grundler reported that Jean Fortson, Unit 2, had recently passed away.
· Due to the Governor’s proclamation concerning Corvid19, our meeting in April may be cancelled, as may other events in the foreseeable future.
There being no further business, Commander Walker closed the meeting at 8:50 pm.
