Commander Walker opened the meeting at 7:30 pm
Minutes of December 14, 2018 meeting approved as posted on website.
Sergeant-at-Arms, Kevin Lindsey introduced visitors, guests and prospective members: Janet Every, prospective member and served 23 years as an Army Nurse. List is attached
Commander had Leader Ken Yates and the Scouts escorted forward to give a presentation on Troop 208 and Venture Crew 1208 activities. The Crew is the only Venturing Crew that is hunting oriented. After his presentation, Ken introduced Crew members and adult staff. Commander presented Legion coins to the scouts.
Committee Reports
· Adjutant Granish reported that membership is currently 159 of goal of 213, 74.65%.
· Finance Officer Dave Hodgeboom reported balance is currently $2,879.38 and Evergreen Boys State is currently at $285.34. Motion made, seconded and passed to move $100.00 into Boys State.
· Second Vice Commander, Larry Douglas, reported that he is attempting to have Fisher House give us a presentation in February with Sidewalk as a back-up..
· Service Officer Rose Hodgeboom reported that she has processed some 35 claims over the past month.
· Auxiliary Unit President, Karen Grundler, reported that Corky Cunningham is doing fine, but still unable to drive. Peggy McHugo has been helping her out. The Unit has 16 paid members and currently have funds available to send one girl to Girls State.
Business and Correspondence
· Rose Hodgeboom reported that the ad hoc committee recommends that moneys donated in memory of Bob Haas be used to pay the per capita of older members. Membership was important to Bob and he spent many hours contacting that prospecting members. She reported that other monies received be directed to Boys State. Motion made, seconded and passed to accept the ad hoc committees recommendations.
· Commander presented Resolution 1 for approval. The final resolved clause reads: “That the American Legion continue to exert maximum effort to ensure that the US Department of Defense continues to counter the aggressive actions of Russia and China as well as other countries and organizations opposed to the United States of America”. Motion made, seconded and passed to approve and forward the resolution to Department.
· Adjutant Granish reported on proposed changes to our By-Laws. Proposed changes have been posted on our web site. He discussed the changes and asked for questions. Motion made, seconded and passed to amend our by-laws as proposed. A copy will be forwarded to Department for their review and files.
· Commander updated the membership on the Home Depot grant process. He also reported that there will be a work party on January 26 with emphasis on the closets and cabinets. Motion made, seconded and passed to authorized $100.00 for clean-up supplies.
· Eric Strom reported that his ad hoc committed recommends replacing the past commanders’ photographs with a plaque and to also add a deceased members plaque.

There being no further business, Commander Walker closed the meeting at 8:30.
