Commander Walker opened the meeting at 7:30 pm
Unit President Karen Grundler escorted forward. She assumed the gavel and conducted a draping of the Unit Charter in remembrance of Sandy VanScoick.
Commander Walker assumed the gavel.

Sergeant-at-Arms pt Rose Hodgeboom introduced guests. Sign-in list attached.
Officer Jesse Hadley, Lacey Police Department, escorted forward and gave a presentation on Crime Prevention.
Committee Reports
· Adjutant Granish reported that membership is currently 100 of goal of 213, 46.99%.
· Finance Officer Dave Hodgeboom reported balance is currently $1831.49 and Evergreen Boys State is currently at $216.34. Full report is attached.
· Chaplain Otis Chapman reported that Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Lindsey had a serious motorcycle accident July 4th. He is out of the hospital and recovering at home. He also reported that Ed Lopez’ daughter’s cancer is in remission.
Business and Correspondence
· Commander reported that the Lacey Veterans Hub now has a van for transportation to American Lake VA. The Hub’s impact on the community from September 2017 through April 2018 VA claims averaged $50,000/month.
· Motion made and seconded to approve nomination of the Officer, Firefighter, EMT and volunteer of the year. Motion also made, seconded and passed to purchase plaques for them. They will be recognized at our September Membership Night.
· Commander reported that the boundary adjustment has now been completed.
· There is an infestation of Tansy Ragwort on our property. Serge Royer has cut it down. Dave Hodgeboom and Larry Granish removed it to the land fill. The county paid the landfill fee.
· Rose Hodgeboom reported that Gibson’s Meats has offered us petite sirloin steaks at $3.99/lb. We will purchase 100, 8 oz steaks. Baked potatoes, vegetables and ice cream will also be on the menu for our 2/1 Membership Steak Night.
Good of the Legion:
· Resolution nominating Rose Hodgeboom to serve as Department Commander for the 2019-2020 Legion Year was read and unanimously approved.
There being no further business, Commander Walker closed the meeting at 8:45.
