Commander Walker opened the meeting at 7:30 pm
Minutes of March 9, 2018 approved as posted on website.
Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Lindsey introduced guests. List is attached.
Past Department Commander, Dave Hodgeboom and Post 100 Commander, Keith Looker escorted to the front. Fred Parker, Army Air Corps, WWII, and his family are escorted forward. Fred flew missions over France on D-Day and was presented with US Flag that was flown over Normandy, the US Capitol and the State Capitol.
Motion made, seconded and passed that the Post pay Fred Parker’s membership dues.
Keith Looker, manager of the Lacey Veterans Service Hub, gave a presentation about the hub and its mission to provide services to veterans in Thurston County. The Hub has received more than 5000 volunteer hours through March of this year.
Committee Reports
· Membership. Adjutant Larry Granish reported that membership is at 192/226, 84.96% of goal.
· Finance Officer Dave Hodgeboom reported that the Post has a balance or $4,229.28. Evergreen Boys State balance is $912.64. Report for March 31 is attached.
· Nominations Committee. The following nominations are submitted for the 2018-2019 Legion Year:

· Sickness & Distress, Corkie Cunningham is scheduled for a procedure on Monday. Sandy VanScoyoc is in the hospital.
Business and Correspondence:
· Commander spoke on the success of the National Revitalization hosted by the Post. Twenty-one claims were processed and the Post gained 14 new members. He thanked everyone who helped.
· Adjutant Granish spoke on the upcoming Department Convention at the Mirabeau Hotel in Spokane Valley, July 18-21. Delegates are based on membership. The Post will be authorized 3 delegates and 3 alternates. PDC Dave Hodgeboom will be a delegate-at-large. Delegates and alternate delegates will need to be elected at our May meeting. Information on convention is on the Department website, www:walegion.org.
· Karen Grundler reported that poppies will be presented May 18-20 at the Safeway at Carpenter and Pacific. Volunteers are needed. She has sign up sheet.
· Karen Grundler reported that we had interviews for Evergreen Boys and Girls State last Wednesday. The Post will send one boy and the Unit will send 3 girls.
· Commander reported that the property boundary adjustment is nearing completion.
· Commander reported that the Post is working with Lacey Fire District 3 and the City of Lacey for law/firefighter/EMT of the year.
· Finance Officer, Dave Hodgeboom, reported that IRS Form 990 has been submitted.
Good of the Legion:
· Commander reported that the Post received a certificate for having the largest number of members at the 4th District Spring Conference.
· Memorial Day—we will meet at the Post at 8:00 am on Saturday to place flags at Woodlawn and Forest Cemeteries. The ceremony at Woodlawn will be at 4:00 pm on Monday. Waterside will be on Sunday and Capitol ceremony at 11:00 on Monday. Flags will be presented to WWII veterans at the Capitol Rotunda ceremony.
There being no further business, Commander Walker closed the meeting at 8:20.
