Commander Walker opened the meeting at 7:30 pm
Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Lindsey introduced guests, which included Scouts, Venture Crew members and Scouters. List is attached.
Ric Overlie, Thurston County Medic 1, conducted CPR/AED training. Nine Scouts and 15 adults certified in CPR (hands only) and AED.
Minutes of February 9, 2018 approved as posted on website.
Committee Reports
· Membership. Adjutant Larry Granish reported that membership is at 171/226, 75.66% of goal.
· Service Officer Rose Hodgeboom reported that she has processed 29 claims at the Lacey Veterans Hub.
· Rose Hodgeboom reported that the nominating committee has nominated Gary Walker as Commander and Larry Granish as Adjutant for 2018-19. A more complete list will be given during the April meeting.
Business and Correspondence:
· We will host a recruiting/membership revitalization event March 23-25. A National membership representative will be here and will have lists to call. We need volunteers to help. Rose and Gary will be available to provide service officer assistance during the event.
· Karen Grundler reported that poppies will be offered May 18-20 at the Safeway at Carpenter and Pacific. She will have a signup list at the next meeting.
· Karen Grundler reported that she has received several applications for Evergreen Boys and Girls State. Interviews will be scheduled in early April.
· Motion made, seconded and passed to donate $100 to the Thurston County Food Bank.
· Commander appointed Eric Strom as Historian.
Good of the Legion:
· District Spring Conference will be April 7 in Eatonville Post 148. Commander is delegate to the conference.
· Commander gave Ric Overlie and application, inviting him to join. Ric accepted his invitation.
There being no further business, Commander Walker closed the meeting at 8:50.
