a.      Post donation of $100 to Food Bank and certificate of appreciation a Post meeting

 

b.     Sons of Italy rental funds received? Yes

 

Gary to make motion at Post meeting on 9 March 2018 for both donations.

 

·       New Business

 

a.      Nation Revitalization March 23-25 @ our Post – what we need to do? It is a significant membership drive operation. Hours are TBD. Post will provide coffee and snacks.

 

b.     Girl Scouts charter – Bob It was decided to refer this to the Auxiliary at the Post for action.

 

c.      Replace Historian or wait until new elections? Yes – Gary will appoint Eric to complete Donna’s term.

 

d.     Nominating Committee Status Eric, Dave/Rose, and Otis are the nominating committee.

 

·       Old Business

 

a.      Post cards to Post members concerning membership renewals were finalized. Gary drafted postcard. Larry will review and print postcards and mailing labels. Gary will mail. On hold until after phone bank. Do we want or need to do this now? Yes but Larry has better pre-printed cards that will be used.

 

b.     Property boundary application – submitted and awaiting final approval from Thurston County but it looks like it is done.

 

c.       The potential, pending need for facility repairs is a concern. What are our options to raise the necessary funds? Fund Raising Ideas – Otis Chapman. Otis will be asked to present his findings at March Post meeting. Also, Eric will talk to his neighbor about harvesting some of the timber.

a.      Pavilion roof quotas (Dave): Action deferred and gutter repairs for Post building will be added to work assignment. Dave will work on it.

b.     Board members are asked to come at 4:30 pm to help with set up.

Gary to invite LTC Brewer to be guest speaker at Memorial Day ceremony.

 

Gary provided an update on Thurston County Veterans Council, USS Olympia visit, and up-coming events.
