Commander Larry Douglas, pt, opened the meeting at 7:30 and welcomed everyone. List is attached. 4th District Commander Frank Sterling escorted forward.

 

 

 

Venture Crew members were introduced.

 

 

 

Minutes of January 12, 2018 approved as posted on website.

 

 

 

Bill Fehrenbach, site manager, USO Pathfinders Program was introduced and given the podium. He explained the Pathfinders Program as a new program of the USO designed to help transitioning service members and their families. They help by developing transition plan with the member and family and getting them where they need to go.

 

 

 

Committee Reports

 

·       Membership.  Adjutant Larry Granish reported that membership is at 166/226, 73.45% of goal.

 

·        Scouting. Ken Yates gave an update on the Venture Crew and efforts to grow the scout troop. There will be a court of honor on Monday.

 

·       Chaplain. Otis Chapman reported that he has been visiting a friend at Mother Joseph’s. He also reported on Dave Hodgeboom, Gary Walker and Karen Grundler.

 

 

 

Business and Correspondence:

 

·       Motion made, seconded and passed authorizing contacting an exterminator for rodent and pest control in the pavilion.

 

·       Commander appointed Dave Hodgeboom (chair), Otis Chapman and Eric Strom to the nominating committee. First report will be at the March meeting.

 

·       We will have CPR training at our March meeting. Please dress accordingly, as you may have to kneel on the floor.

 

 

 

Good of the Legion:

 

·       Walt Morgan spoke on Four Chaplains Sunday. It’s recognized as the first Sunday in February and memorizes the actions of four chaplains after the SS Dorchester was torpedoed.  Chaplain offered the Four Chaplains prayer.

 

·       4th District Commander, Frank Sterling asked for our help at the District revitalization here on March 23-25. Spring Conference will be at Post 148 in Eatonville on April 7. Social will be at 11:00 am, lunch at 12:00 and business will start at 1:00 pm. Frank stated that he is running for a second term as District Commander and asked for the Posts’ support.
