The annual presentation of The American Legion School Award have been made at eaqch of Grandview's schools.
The prestigious award recognizes six qualities of courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and service. Because of these unique criteria, the award often does not go to top academic students, though it is possible.
The award is presented to a boy and a grl in each school's "graduating" class.
The recipients for Grandview High School were Andreanna Cervantes and Manuel Arias Silva. Honorable Mention certicates were presented to Alfonso Granados and Areesa Trevino.
Grandview Middle School recipients were Lauren Vargas and Hecor Garcia. Honorable Mention certificates were given to Fernando Medina and Jazzel Tovar.
Recipients at Thompson School were Luis Vaquera and lilianna Espindola. An Honorable Mention certiicate was presented to Cooper Kleinow.
McClure School recipients were Sophia Gonzales and Logan Williams.
Smith School reciopients wre Daniel DeRobles and Esmerelda Ochoa. Multiple Honorable Mention certificates were ssued to Kiley Smith, Jessica Barajas, Emily Baltazar and Brandon Montelongo.
