On Memorial Day, Post 236 did something that and every Post in the Nation should do without question. Post Adjutant Charlene Christian was approached by this young lady asking for her assistance. She said that another group wanted to borrow her son's burial flag and would return it folded. They told her that it was windy and they could not fold it. Even though our program was about to start, we dropped whatever we were doing and refolded her flag. Adjutant Christian, Commander Christian, and 1st Vice Commander Joe Gallagher refolded her flag and Adjutant Christian presented it to her. She was in tears and very thankful for what we did. We did not get her name, but that doesn't matter. Post 236 did what was right. We may never know who she was, but we do believe we made a friend today.
