An old fashioned box supper will highlight the Zillah American Legion 50th Anniversary Saturday night. The Legion celebrates its 50th birthday March 15-17. Four 50-year charter members will be honored during the evening. They are Geoffrey Hilton, Fred Hovis, and Herron Wilson, Zillah members, and Grover Seat from Yakima. They will be presented with 50-year pins, certificates and patches to be worn on their Legion caps. The members have been very active in Legion through the years and have held many offices, said Post Commander Cecil Osborne. Guest speaker for the evening will be Senator Perry Woodall, a Legionnaire and past department judge. An old fashioned western band will provide music for dancing after dinner. There also will be card games. The only admission is a decorated box lunch for two to be auctioned off after the ceremonies. All Legion members, veterans of World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam are urged to attend. The public also is invited to help the Legion celebrate its 50th anniversary.
