Since its chartering in 1919, Lloyd Williams always honored the deceased veterans buried in Clarke County by decorating their graves with flowers and U.S. flags and conducting memorial services in local cemeteries. Through the efforts of Lloyd Williams Post 41, VFW Post 9760, local churches, and local government, one combined Memorial Day Service was held on May 28, 2006, in Rose Hill Park in Berryville.
This had now become an annual service for the entire community.
