The American Legion veterans of World War I and the Clarke County Citizens Committee cordially invite the veterans of World War II and their families to be their guests at the Welcome Home and Remembrance Celebration to be held at Berryville on Saturday, October 16th. This celebration is an official expressions of appreciation and "Welcome Home" to those who served the country in World War II, and commemoration of the valiant sacrifice of those who did not return.

The program will commence with memorial services for our honored dead of World War II held in the Baptist Church. Following this, the program will continue at the Horse Show grounds. Official expressions of welcome by the guests of honor will be followed by a barbecue supper for the veterans and their families and the day's festivities will conclude with a street dance in Berryville at 8 o'clock. This invitation also includes all World War II veterans, who while they did not enter service from the county, have since become residents of the county. Veteran's attendance in uniform will be appreciated so that they may more readily be identified and extended the courtesies desired.
