The Membership welcomed their first female veteran, Frances Karn in February 1946. The photo was taken February 20, 1945 at the Trade Winds in Washington D.C. Frances Karn (center) was with two friends, Janie Jonas and Edna Snyder at the Trade Winds in Washington D.C.
Ms. Karn served in the WAVES from 1942 to 1945 during WWII and later from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. Ms. Karn was a First Class Storekeeper upon separation.
