It is Project Colonial Beach that has undertaken the restoration of the War Memorial. Through donations from The American Legion, VFW, many businesses and countless numbers of Colonial Beach citizens we raised almost $7,000 last year and began planting around the base of the memorial and thanks to Windland Masonry we have re-pointed the deck and as soon as we power wash the base Chimney Rescue will seal the entire foundation to protect from further deterioration. This week Virginia Architectural Metals installed a post and chain "rail" around the base of the memorial and it really accentuates the dignity of the entire memorial.
