Donated $10 to the American Cancer Fund upon the death of a comrade’s wife instead of sending the usual flowers. The Loyal Order of Moose held their installation of officers at the Post. The Post held a joint installation of officers for the Post and Ladies Auxiliary. Bingo was was still being held. Veterans Day services were held jointly with the Fleet Reserve. Frances Karn was presented a Legion Citation for her work with Child Welfare. Installed a hand rail on the lower steps. Sponsored a child to attend a three day 4H club camp. The Ladies Auxiliary presented a $100 check to be used toward the mortgage. A Christmas party was held, music courtesy of Reverend Price of the Catholic Church and gifts exchanged. Father Michael Giblen gave a check for $40 to help defray the cost of sending a boy to Boys State. The Fleet Reserve was ready to participate in the Memorial Day ceremony. A report from the Monroe Park Playground Committee stated 2 back steps were installed and the dugouts were in place. An eternal flame was voted to be installed at the Memorial but for some reason was rescinded (not by the members).
