Permission given to the Hunt Club to use the building for a dance. A dance was held for WWI veterans. The Post purchased 100 pamphlets regarding flag education for the school. Comrade Tommy Lamb requested permission to address the Junior class regarding Boys State and its benefits. Ms. Frances L. Karn was voted Mr. Legionnaire of the year. The Post approached Mr. Cooper regarding waterproofing the building. A flag retirement ceremony was held. The Post won the Child Welfare Trophy for the second straight year. Comrade Major Otto B. Osmondson USMC(RET), Chairman Sons of the American Legion, reported the boys were very enthusiastic and meetings were to be held every Saturday morning. The boys were to be given Red Cross swimming lessons by Mr. Carl L. Willett. The SAL had 35 members and completed a five mile hike and camping trip. The Father/Son dinner was very well attended. The Post bought the school’s girls basketball team a trophy. Post granted permission for the Potomac River Commission to use the building. Big push that year to get more Legionnaires involved. The Post planned formation of a small bore rifle club the next spring. The Planning Committee looked into building a shell building for use as kitchen, size 14 X 18’6”.
