Asked for volunteers as plane spotters as Colonial Beach was considered a critical area. Reno contributed $100 and Monte Carlo contributed $50 for the playground. St. Elizabeth’s Church donated matting to cover the basement floor. On October 12 the Post Hall was used as a roller skating rink for the kids. Mr. Jerry Sandernberg loaned skates & Mr. Conner loaned small skates. Mr. Tommy Salenger was the manager. A nickelodeon (unknown type) and register were loaned by Mrs. Katie Conner.
