Offered CBVFD & CBVRS use of the building for fund raisers. Mr. William Hall installed the sink & water heater downstairs. The Mayor donated a bust of George Washington. Locust trees on the property were removed. A dinner was held at the Flamingo Hotel. A Veterans Day dance was held. (A bill signed into law by President Eisenhower in 1954 created Veterans Day.) A Commanders banquet was held at Old Point Comfort, Hampton. A talent show was held in the hall.
