In 1943 the Post voted to raise money for cigarettes for the ‘boys’ overseas. They raised over $129.00 which at 14 cents a pack came to approximately 92 cartons of cigarettes. The membership voted to have a committee bid good-bye to the boys as they left Montross for induction into the Armed Forces. The Post also held fund raisers for War Bond purchases.
