Crippen Fellows Post 50 Family paid tribute and remembrance and held a Four Chaplains Ceremony on Sunday, February 4 at a joint meeting in honor of the 75th Anniversary of the sinking of the Dorchester.
Chaplain Ben Boss organized this event paying tribute to the 902 men aboard the U.S.A.T. Dorchester, 672 died, leaving 230 survivors and the Four Chaplains, Lt. George L. Fox, Methodist; Lt. Alexander D. Goode, Jewish; Lt. John P. Washington, Roman Catholic; and Lt. Clark V. Poling, Dutch Reformed.
The Post 50 Color Guard presented and retired the colors. Participants of the color guard were 1st Vice Commander John Loso, Finance Officer David Vadnais, Tommy Mounds and William Bones. Live music was played on the piano and cello by members of the Hubbardton Church and Amazing Grace was sang by William Jones.
