The photo shows Edmund, James T. Hart (post adjutant) and Commander Danny Settani presenting the award. A dinner honoring Edmund for his years of service as a Past Post Commander and many offices and chairmanships she had held. Edmund was also Department Sergeant of Arms in 1986.

Ed was the “father“ of the post for many years. His spirited debates to do what was right for our veterans were heard at post meetings, as well as, Selectboard meetings. He was truly an advocate for the community veterans. 

At the time of the presentation Ed had been the post service officer for 16 years. Advocating for veterans benefits. He was the Commander when the post moved into Dreamland theatre, (present location). He served as County and District Commander for the Department. Department scholarship and Americanism Committee and was honored by the National organization for his work as service officer. 

Ed’s entire family attended the event, as well as local past commanders and many Department officers. Significant Department officers to mention were Doc Simon 5th District Cdr, who later became National Vice Commander and Roy Sweet from Windsor who also served as a National Vice Commander. Hail Lobdell from Harltand a Department area Vice Commander, Dean Reid Past Department Commander. Over 100 in attendance to honor a man of honor and integrity.
