Rutland Post #31 met with their long time rival Bennington Post #13, but Post 13 was no match for the most cohesive team since 1959 . Coach Flory started with Pete Shambo on the mound and left handed relief pitcher Steve Corbett who shut the door on Post #13s chances . Rutland made no mistakes infield and outfield. Everything clicked together as they won their State Championship. The players came from several different he area and just seemed to have a team spirit that was supported by hundreds of loyal fans.
