Ray Ernest Murphy
4/16/1924-9/23/1973
Born in Rutland, Vt attended all city schools.
Enlisted 6/21/1943-12/11/1945 and continued with the Vermont National Guard Chief Warrant Officer and Full time technician of the Maintenance Shop .
He was activated 1950-52 for Korean War.
Elected Post #31 Commander 1950 but was activated and so Goodrich took his position.
He was elected Post Commander upon his return in 1952-53.

Member of the Rutland Moose, Masons, Vt NG Officers Association.
Note: son graduated from West Point.
He died of a heart attack, in a hotel, during a weekend training mission. He is buried Gardner Earle Cemetery, Troy, NY.
