Born in White Creek, NY.
Moves to Wallingford and is the Fire Chief and tax collector.
Moves to Castleton and is the Constable for 20 years and Deputy Sheriff of the County.
WWI and WWII veteran, served in the US Navy.
WWII joined in 8/22/1942. This is the same time as he becomes Post #31 Commander and apparently Albert Cree finished the last 5 months of his Year. He served until 1/13/1945.
In an article in the Rutland Herald dated 1944, he talked about surviving many attacks on his ships, especially at Anzio 132 attacks. He had two ships sunk. 14 attacks by subs on way from Calcutta to Suez. He was a Chief Commissary Steward. (C.P.O.).
1949 Captain of the Post #31 Drum Corps.
He worked for Jones and Lawson Machine Company retiring 1965.
Died of Lung Cancer with Metastasis. He died a 50 year member of the American Legion and military honors were given by Post #31 at the Hillside Cemetery in Castleton.
