Guy Bradford Chase
6/16/1891-8/7/1971
Born in Shrewsbury, VT . He is listed in 1913 UVM Freshman class book.
1918 He joined the Navy as a quartermaster 1st Class.
He grew up active in the Congregational church. His faith in God and Country made The American Legion a perfect fit for him.
1923 Manager and player on Post #31 Legion Basketball team that played against other posts.
1920-35 He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts program

1942 Chase leaves for San Diego to join the Marine Corps is stationed in Keyport, Washington.
1942 Due to Chase’s commitment to WWII, the post submits a resolution to the state convention to open the dates of eligibility to WWII veterans.
Guy Chase worked for the railroad as a postal clerk.
He was a member of the Admiral Dewey Navy Club; The Elks Club.
1947 The Marine Corps League of Rutland organized. Chase was named Commandant.
He moved to Daytona area and died 1971. He returned home and was buried with full military honors provided by grateful Legionnaires of Post #31 at Evergreen Cemetery.
