The Department of Vermont officers would often times have a parade. They rolled up their pant legs, promenade would begin with wigs, funny hats, mops and brooms and cause a ruckus throughout the post home that were hosting them. It was all in good fun and spirited. Membership was their theme and they put the fun in that purpose.
