Ralph Brown born April 14, 1920 in Bennington, VT. Graduate of Bennington High School.
WWII veteran. He entered the military and served in the US Army Feb 13, 1941 to October 13, 1945. He was in the 43rd Infantry Division. He was on the USS Coolidge when it was sunk.
Ralph was Post Commander of Post #13 and honorary life member.
4th District Commander 2001-2002; Southern Area Commander 2002-2003;Senior Vice Commander 2003-2004;
Department Commander 2004-2005.
He was also a member of the Bennington VFW and DAV.
Ralph Brown and his sweetheart Shirley Carroll (also a WWII veteran) would be seen on every post dance floor. Their spirt, compassion for others, and their overall good nature made Ralph a very popular commander.
Died April 13, 2013 at the age of 92. He is buried in the Vermont Veterans Cemetery.
