Born June 11, 1962 in Rockingham, Vt. Graduated from Bellows Falls Union HS class of 1980; Entered Notre Dame College as a history major, after one year, entered the US Army to pay tuition. 

Linda and father PDC Wayne Mclean were the only father and daughter Department Commanders for over a century of American Legion History. 

Linda served in the US Army medical Corps as a combat medic and later becoming a Registered Nurse. August 08, 1981-August 7,  1994.Serving in Mannheim, Germany, Walter Reed Army Hospital and Ft Sam Houston burn ward, as well as Ft Dix 556th Med Detach and Basic at Ft Jackson, SC.

She was the first Grenada Veteran to apply for membership in The Vermont American Legion. She became Post Commander for Pierce Lawton  post #37 quickly and in 1999 attended the first American Legion College program. (She would return 3 times as a facilitator).

She got her start as a member of  the Department scholarship program and Children and Youth. She would later become Chairman for several years. (Mentors: Ray Greenwood, Francis Moriarity, Jim Brouillette and her Dad). 

She held every office from County Cdr (3yrs) to Department Commander

2008 Voted "Legionnaire of the Year" 

2013 Voted "Adjutant of the Year".
