Bill was born November 8, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended Concord, NH HS until the age of 17 and then he joined the Navy. After, serving 20 months he returned to Concord High and finished his Junior and Senior years graduating in 1947.

WWII Navy veteran 1944-1946. He attended Radioman school in Brainbridge, MD 3rd class radio petty officer. 

1949 He attended Leland Powers School of Radio and theater, Boston, Massachusetts graduating 1951. 

He worked as a radio announcer at WHWB in North Carolina and then came to Newport, VT WIKE 1490 AM in 1952. He was the "Voice of the Kingdom". He was the station manager and became President of the Vermont Assoc. of Broadcasters and was elected a Life Member of the Radio Hall of Fame. He retired in 1980.

1981 Community National Bank marketing and public relations officer until retirement. 

72 year member of the Newport Post #21. Post Commander

Department Commander 1999-2000. He attended 14 National Conventions. 

Member of Newport Rotary Club (He recieved the Paul Harris Fellowship Award). 55 year member of the Masons, (He served twice as Worshipful Master of Lodge #65, Newport. Past Master in irasburg; 

Bill was loved by all. Laurie, his wife were inseperable. They loved traveling and you could always find them playing cribbage at the conventions. His voice will stay with us forever. It was one of compassion and empathy for others.
