George Albert Bille born August 31, 1933 in Richmond, New York.Graduated from Cottonville High School. 

Began work in a refinery, and later joined the US Navy 1953-1956. Korean War veteran. He served as an electricians mate/fireman On a Destroyer. 

Returned to New York and became a NYC Fireman in 1960 to retirement from injuries. 

He moved to Arlington, Vermont in 1975.

Joined Arlington Post #69 and became post commander.

County Commander 1991-92; District Cdr 92-93; Southern Area Cdr 93-94; Senior Vice and Membership Chairman 94-95.

Department Commander 1995-96. 

National Distinguished Guest Committee: 1993-1995.

2001 went to New York for rescue and recovery at the Worlds Trade Center 9/11.

Moved to Florida 2002 and then resided in Massachusetts to 2021. 

George was a very inspirational Commander to the younger veterans. His brand of humor and commitment brought all veterans closer to The American Legion And its support to AMericanism programs and caring for its veterans.
