Bud Yeaw was born December 6,1929 in Brattleboro,Vt. He graduated from Brattleboro HS class of 1949.
He attended schools Southern Police Institute, University of Louisville,Ky and Champlain College. He held a degree in criminal justice.
He joined the US Army 1948 and served until 1954 when he left for State Police duty. Rank 1LT. Assigned to 43rd Division Artillery, Vt National Guard, activated to Munich,Germany 1952-54.
1950 Brattleboro Police Dept.
1954 joined the Vermont State Police. He served in Barre, Poultney, Brattleboro, Rutland and final duty as Commander of the Derby Outpost. The bulk of his early duty was as the State Police Safety Officer. He traveled to all the schools throughout the state providing education to students on safety.
1970 President of Vt PTA.
1972 Vermont Law Cadet Program instructor of gun safety.

Special note: Son Jeff was Vt Oratorical Champion, he was also a House of Representatives page and graduated from West Point Military Academy. His son Glenn also attended West Point.
May 13, 1983 , after qualifying with his revolver at the range, while cleaning and reloading his weapon, it discharged and he was shot and killed. Investigators ruled it an accident. He is buried in his hometown of Guilford, VT at Baker Cemetery.
