Francis Moriarity born June 26, 1920 in West Castleton, VT (Coonhill). 1938 Graduated from Fair Haven High School.Captain of the basketball team. 

Graduated from Castleton State Teachers College 1942.

Occupation: High School and College History Teacher Whitehall,NY school district. Real Estate business.

Congressional aide to James Jeffords for 7 years.

Organizations: VFW, Grand Knight of K of C and treasurer; Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) coach and teacher. Active member and liturgent for Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. 

Francis died from non-Hodgkins Lymphoma March 25,2002. He is buried St Mary's cemetery, Fair Haven, VT

Francis was a quiet, soft spoken man that had integrity and honesty with everyone he mentored, taught and worked with. The American Legion lost a quality individual when he left us,  but he left a legacy of patriotism and love for country that lasts in the hearts of those that knew him.
