His passion was Oratorical Contest and Scholarships for kids.

He died August 25, 1992 age of 81.

Luke mentored and advised many Legionnaires. He was loyal to Newfane Post, where he lived. The Legion Conventions depended on his legal expertise and often saw him enter debates with Asa Bloomer on a spirited debate.
