N. Henry Press born 8/18/1910 in St Albans, VT. His parents immigrated here from Latvia, Russia . 

1933 Graduated from University of Vermont. Taught at Bellows Free Academy. 

1933-1937 2LT Infantry National Guard.

1941 Active Duty: Company A 43rd Division Quartermaster Corp. LtColonel G4 Supply Officer Stationed in the South Pacific. 

 

1945 passed the bar exam, attorney for the local area.

1947 defeated for Past Commander  Green Mt Post #1 by Pudge Coleman a 26 yr old Navy veteran. 

1948 Elected Department Commander installed by National Vice Commander Albert Cree.

1950 chairman of the Vermont Public Service Commission 

1952 two Motor Vehicle collisions off icy roads a took his life.

Chair Red Cross appeals, Headed Vt State Special Gifts Division, president St Albans Rotary, President of Vermont Jewish Counci. 

1953 Post Commander of Green Mountain Post #1

Died April 4, 1961 age 50. Complications from surgery for hepatic shunt.
