Timothy C. Dale born 1894 at Island Pond, VT. He was the son of United States Senator Porter Dale. He attended Vermont Academy, Oberlin College and graduated from Eastern College in Manassas, VA. 

Enlisted June18,1917. +Overseas July 11,1917-June 27, 1919 . He was assigned to Office of Surgeon, Dist Paris; Special Casualty Company and Hospital. Rank: CpL. 

Post Commander of the Brighton Post #80. 

Department Commander 1935-36. His convention was a contentious race against Myers C. Tuttle of Montpelier, overwrought with excitement, Myers suffered a heart attack at the convention and was confined to his room during the balloting. Dale won by 10 votes. 

1935-1948  State Public Welfare Commissioner.

Former Brighton Legislature and on the board of selectmen.

President of the Burlington Mutual Fire Insurance Company for 25 years. 

1948 State Commissioner of Institutions and Corrections. 

 

Died October 3, 1977 Prostate Cancer. Buried at Lakeside Cemetery, Island Pond, VT . This was a quiet man that worked for the welfare of others.
