F. Haviland Sibley:Known as "Sib" to friends:  Born in Bennington, VT 1918 Graduated from Williams College (He was in ROTC and taking officers training with the Army when Armistice was signed)

Enlisted May 15, 1918 - Dec 7, 1918.

1920 Manager of the Allen A Company: Machine Shop until 1934. 

1922 Managed William Wills Insurance Company/Real Estate Agency 

Post Commander of Bennington Post #13

1934-35 Department Commander American Legion

1937-38 Bennington Representative of Vermonts Unemployment Compensation Department, as a field examiner.

1945 The Governor appointed him manager of the War Production Board in Montpelier which helped provide transition for soldiers to workforce. 

 

Died in Brattleboro Vermont July 24, 1953. He was on the job as the State Supervisor of VT State Employment Services and he suffered a heart attack. He is buried at the Parklawn Cemetery, Bennington.
