Cdr. George Everette BEAN, (1893 - 1976). Our 22nd post commander.  He was born in Plainfield, VT and was inducted into the U.S. Army on 15 JUly 1918 in Montpelier.  He was assigned to a Mech. Det. at the Univ. of VT until 13 Sept. 1918.  He was then assigned to the 307th. Repair Unit, M.T.C. until 18 Oct 1918 and then to the 306th. M.T.C. until his discharge.  He was promoted to Sgt. on 1 Feb. 1919 and was discharged on 14 April 1919 at Camp Holabird, MD.  He is buried in the Plainmount Cemetery in North Montpelier, VT.
